Moukite Pendant Necklace, Bead Embroidery, Beadweaving

A spectacular moukite oval bead is the focal point for this lovely necklace. The stone has a deep rusty red background with ribbons of yellow, cream, gray, and lavender running through it.

I surrounded the stone with a seed bead bezel embellished with micro-faceted sunstone rondelles and keishi pearls. I backed the pendant with a beautiful golden brown Ultrasuede for softness and comfort.

The neck strap was woven with the twisted Ndebele method, also called twisted tubular herringbone stitch. The colors are a deep cherry red accented with a line of metallic beads ranging from deep gold to purple. The pattern is permanently twisted, so you can just put the necklace on and forget it - it will always look good.

The ends of the necklace are embellished with hand stitched beaded bead caps, moukite round beads, and Czech fire-polished crystal beads. Gold-plated lobster claw clasp.
